Posted on December 6, 2022December 6, 2022 By Julee Vox

The last time the active spread of SGA infection was noted in the 2017-2018 season.

In the UK, the eighth child has died from a dangerous infection – group A streptococcus.

It is reported that in the city of Waterlooville, which is located in the county of Hampshire, an elementary school student died due to group A streptococcus. He became the eighth victim of the disease.

The disease has been spreading across the country for the past few months. Its symptoms are sore throat, scarlet fever or skin rash. It is transmitted during physical contact or during sneezing or coughing.

There are no plans to introduce quarantine in the UK yet. They emphasize that most people who have been in contact with the patient remain healthy, but parents need to be vigilant about the condition of their children and respond to the disease.

Group A streptococcus bacteria can cause many infections ranging from mild to fatal, but serious complications and deaths are rare.

The last time an active spread of SGA infection was noted in the 2017-2018 season, then four deaths were recorded over the same period.

Experts estimate that at least 90% of the world’s population has already developed immunity to the SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus after prior infection or as a result of vaccination.
